On the tiger uprising front, the news indicates that the wall around the tiger exhibit in SF was four feet lower than standard. There is also some indication, either in reality or from the propaganda machine, that one of the victims might have been dangling a leg over the top of the fence. Tragedy either way.
There is also evidence that I was not overreacting. Apparently there has been an increase in the number and frequency of tiger attacks. This article indicates it has been a ten-year trend in the making and also confirms (on page 2) that tigers, like bears, are in fact "killing machines."
Finding the silver lining yet again, my fun with the threat matrix continues with the launch of a Google gadget version. Incompetent zookeepers have been added.
